HISTORIC HOME PLANS
GOTHIC AND ROMANESQUE VICTORIAN HOME PLANS
During the latter half of the 1800s, the influence of Ruskin in England and H.H. Richardson in the USA brought about an interest in Romanesque and Gothic Styles. These styles provided a more substantial and massive aesthetic, suitable for more important homes and Civic buildings. Usually stone and brick were favored. But sometimes Gothic details were transfered to wood and this style became known as Carpenter Gothic style.
