HISTORIC HOME PLANS CRAFTSMAN HOUSE PLANS Craftsman Style house plans, since the style first appeared at the end of the 1800s, have remained a perennial favorite. The Craftsman home, warm, informal and inviting, adapts easily to every climate and setting. Gustav Stickley, the father of the Arts and Crafts movement in the USA popularized Craftsman house plans through his magazine, "The Craftsman." Virtually every natural material is welcome in the Craftsman house. Plans may ramble across the landscape, or rise in a cascade of Mission tile or wood shingle rooftops. Despite the variety, the Craftsman home is instantly recognizable.
